8K/5K Frequently Asked Questions
- Race Distance: 8K & 5K
- Start Time: 9:30am – 8k
9:45am – 5k
- Entry Fee includes a Mizuno short sleeve technical shirt, race kit and a great post run party
- What do I get? Your entry fee entitles you to a unique Toronto Women’s 8k/5k heavyweight cotton t-shirt that is sized for women, a fantastic race experience and a great post race party
- Is the race “chip” timed? Yes, we use Mylaps BIBTAG timing system provided by Sportstats
- Can guys run? Yes, men can show their support by running in the race, but sorry guys, there are no awards and we ask that you don’t cross the finish line before the first woman runner finishes
- Are walkers allowed? Yes, walkers can encouraged to participate
- Is there a time limit? Yes, the time limit is 80 minutes for the 8K
- Can kids participate? Yes, but they must be registered. If someone is under 12 years of age, they must be accompanied by an adult
- Can anyone cross the finish line? No, only registered participants who are wearing a race bib and timing chip will be allowed to cross the finish line.
- Is registration capped? Yes, the race is capped at 1,100 participants in total
- Course: An out-&-back course that starts and finishes at Sunnybrook Park. The route is on flat, paved paths.

- Can I wear my headphones / iPod during the run? Ideally not. You should enjoy the atmosphere and race experience. If you do wear your headphones, please keep the volume low so that you are aware of others around you and that you are able to hear any directions given to you by our course marshals.
- Do you need volunteers? How can I sign up to volunteer? Yes, we always need volunteers to help us make the event a success. To sign up, click here and we’ll be in touch
- What is the charitable cause? Our charitable partner is POGO (Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario). Click here for more info
- Are there incentive prizes? If you fundraise for POGO and reach the various levels, you are eligible for the prize. Click here for more info
- Where are good places for us to go on the course to cheer on runners?
- Behind the Science Centre... take Eglinton east to Don Mills, go south or right down to the lights at Gateway Blvd., turn right, park at bottom of hill and walk 50m over to paved path
- At the firefighters water station directly underneath the Overlea Bridge. This is accessible off of Thornecliffe Park Road.
